Is there a discount applied to your power bill?

Alot of the time you will be able to save money simply by paying your power bill on time or before a specific date each month. This is called a prompt payment discount. Dual fuel deals where you have more than one service with your power company (power and gas) can also mean you qualify for a special rate. Long term fixed price plans can also provide certainty of the price you will pay but can lock you into an expensive contract if prices drop or better deals emerge.

Are you a low user?

Low user electricity plans are designed to benefit customers who use less electricity on average per year. These have a lower daily fixed charge than standard plans and a higher variable rate on electricity usage.

Do you really need two showers a day? Cut back on the number of showers or at least make them shorter.
